Description
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and execute order flow from team members in the energy, softs and equity markets
- Communicate order status and potential opportunities with team members as needed during trading day in order to facilitate necessary adjustments
- Utilize available tools and algorithms to construct and execute complex trade structures
- Develop relationships with brokers and members of exchanges to improve liquidity and discover new opportunities
- Reconcile morning broker positions with internal reporting to confirm all positions are squared before daily trading commences
- Report intra-session and day end P&L to other team members
- Reconcile end of day positions with Sector Analysts and Controller
- Conduct a quick daily huddle with each team to review prior day execution, open orders, daily strategy and market news
- Proactively monitor markets and provide feedback throughout trading session to Sector Analysts
- Identify potential opportunities for improvement in execution or enhancements to strategies
- In collaboration with Sector Analysts, conduct analysis of market trends and opportunities
- Under guidance of Softs Sector Analyst, research and develop potential new trading strategies
- Development of analytical and critical thinking skills
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree with strong academic performance in finance, economics, math or a technical field (engineering or hard science)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in finance, business or a related field
- Quantitative reasoning skills
- Experience and competency in Microsoft Excel
- Trading experience preferred, but not required
- Knowledge of commodity futures options and equity options preferred, but not required
- Experience with a programming language (VBA, Python, R) preferred, but not required
- Ability to adapt and learn quickly
