Cost Accounting Manager
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform monthly accounting close and reporting activities in timely and accurate manner including preparing GL entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Financial KPI reporting, tracking and review with management.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reports and statements including variance analysis.
- Identify variances in standard versus actual costs from analysis. Prepare and provide analysis of cost variances by product, project, machine, etc.
- Understand what is impacting the production costs, and identify changes required to measure costs more accurately.
- Oversee the development, analysis, and management of plant standard costs including leading the annual standard cost process.
- Analyze cost records and calculation of unit costs; investigate costs that seem contrary to experience.
- Assemble analysis and explanations in response to costing queries.
- Maintain necessary inventory polices and controls to ensure integrity of financial statements.
- Assist plant employees with ERP system corrections affecting inventory movement.
- Manage the annual physical inventory count.
- Manage Daily/Weekly Cycle Count Program
- Maintain accuracy of fixed asset records. Provide operational support with capital expenditure requests and asset management, including tracking and disposal.
- Ensure proper internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
- Work closely with the operations leadership team on various ad hoc requests.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience in Cost Accounting
- Strong understanding of accounting, finance, and management principles.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience implementing and working with information technology and ERP systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to analyze large amounts of data
- Transactional analysis and modeling skills.
- Ability to shift priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
